Terms of service
The agreement between you and Kinoplate. Short, and in the same plain words as the rest of the product.
By creating an account or using the API you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind it.
Private alpha
Kinoplate is in private alpha. The service may change, and features may be added or altered as they are released. We will not remove a capability you are using without telling you first, and the changelog is where every change is recorded - a capability ships with its changelog entry and its documentation page on the same day, or it has not shipped.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and your API keys. A key can be revoked at any time and stops working immediately; the record of it stays, because the spend ledger references it.
You may not use the service to produce content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that impersonates a person or organisation in a way intended to deceive.
Your content is yours
Templates, assets, fonts and rendered files you put into or produce with a workspace remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and no licence to use them beyond what running the service requires: storing them, rendering them, and delivering them to you.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload - that includes fonts, which is why uploading one asks you to confirm the licence permits it.
Plans and credits
Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance; annual billing charges ten months of twelve. Credits are consumed as described on the pricing page, which reads the same constants as the biller.
Four things are true on every plan and are not subject to change by tier:
- Every feature ships on every plan. Plans differ on credits, seats, workspaces and throughput, never on capability.
- Previews, dry runs and AI drafting cost nothing, always.
- A failed render costs nothing. If we could not produce your file, you were not charged.
- Work is priced before it starts. If your balance cannot cover a request it is refused at submission and nothing is charged - including a batch, which is priced whole and refused whole rather than stopping halfway through.
Monthly allowance credits do not roll over. Prepaid packs do not expire, and consumption draws the allowance first so an unused allowance is never lost to a pack.
Automatic top-up is your choice, including whether it has a monthly cap. With it off, running out stops your renders with an error that says so.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available and we do not offer a contractual uptime commitment in the alpha. When a dependency degrades we would rather refuse a render than produce a wrong one: a render that cannot complete stays pending or fails with a reason, and is never reported as finished.
Suspension
We may suspend an account that is not paying, that is being used in a way that damages the service for others, or that is in breach of these terms. Except where the law or an urgent risk requires otherwise, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it.
Ending it
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. A paid plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. On closure your data is deleted; ask us if you want a copy first, and see the privacy notice for how.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may change these terms. A material change is announced before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last changed.
